Sri Lanka's military says 7 rebels, 2 soldiers killed in latest fighting

: A new unit of ammunition of fighting killed seven Tamil Tiger Rebels and two Sri Lankan soldiers in the island's restive north, the military said Sunday.

The clangs on Saturday were along the presences in the countries of Mannar, Vavuniya and Welioya, the military said in a statement.

Rebel spokesman Rasiah Ilanthirayan could not immediately be reached for remark and it was not possible to acquire independent conformation of the claim.

Fighting have raged in the past respective calendar months around the rebels' northern strongholds, where they run a Delaware facto administration.

Government soldiers are trying to interrupt into the Rebel district from four chief fronts, promising to oppress the insurrectionists by the end of this year. Today in Asia - Pacific

The Tamil Tiger Rebels have got got fought authorities military units since 1983 to make an independent fatherland in the island's North and east for ethnical minority Tamils, who have suffered decennaries of favoritism under authorities controlled by the bulk Sinhalese.

More than 70,000 people have got died in the conflict.
